Even when it hurt

When I watch from afar as the ones I love and care so deeply about get hurt or have their hearts crushed by others, my own heart can't help but break a tiny bit and I can't seem to find any way of helping them other than maybe throwing myself in between them and the cause of all of the pain. 

It was a promise to be there for you even when it hurt and I'll always keep it.
